Watch Care Guide
A mechanical watch benefits from careful handling. These practical steps help protect the movement, finish, seals and strap.
Daily handling
- Remove the watch before impact-heavy work, sport or contact with chemicals.
- Avoid setting the date during the movement’s date-change window; if unsure, move the hands to approximately 6:30 before adjusting the date.
- Keep the crown fully secured after winding or setting.
- Do not operate pushers or the crown under water.
Water and magnetism
Water-resistance is configuration-specific and can reduce as seals age. Do not rely on a category-wide rating; confirm the allocated watch’s tested condition before exposure. Keep mechanical watches away from strong magnets, speakers, charging equipment and industrial magnetic sources.
Cleaning and storage
Use a clean soft cloth for routine care. Do not use abrasive polish, household chemicals or ultrasonic cleaning on a complete watch. Store it dry, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperature, with the bracelet or strap supported rather than sharply folded.
When to request service
Contact support if timekeeping changes suddenly, winding feels abnormal, condensation appears under the crystal or a function stops operating. Stop using a watch showing moisture or mechanical resistance and document the condition before further operation.
